The Romanian IT Sector, Supported in the US by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mr. Zsolt Nagy, together with the State Secretary Balint Porcsalmi, was present at the press conference organized for the presentation of the â€žInvesting in & Partnering with Romanian Technology Companiesâ€ event which will take place during the period 26-27 April in San Francisco, in the US.
â€œInvesting in & Partnering with Romanian Technology Companiesâ€ is the first event that offers US companies and businessmen the possibility to identify business opportunities in the Romanian IT sector and it is an initiative of the Romanian-American Commerce Chamber, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technoplogy and ARIES.
â€žThe Ministry of Communications and Information Technology supports actively the achievment of a strategic partnership between the public and private sector for consolidating the presence of the Romanian companies on the international market. The San Francisco event represents an opportunity for promoting the Romanian IT values, the creative talent and technical excellence of the Romanian professionals, the main strengths of our country within a sector with an extraordinary and constant growth. Therefore, MCIT, through the presence of the State Secretary Balint Porcsalmi, will support the Romanian IT sector at this conferenceâ€, said Minister Zsolt Nagy on this occasion.
The main topics that will be approached during the San Francisco event include: presentations of business opportunities in the Romanian IT sector, legal issues, intellectual property ownership tax and accounting issues, acquisition, selling, repatriation of profits, owning and managing an IT enterprise in Romania, the impact of the EU acession, negotiating the deal.
â€œI am glad that I will have the opportunity to represent the Romanian IT sector during this event alongside private companies from the field. The Romanian IT sector is growing constantly, contributing by 4.19% to the GDP last year. I believe that is very important to support at international level the creative talent and technical excellence of the people who work in this field because the progress that has been made so far is due to their work. The human resource is our most important capital and one of the main objectives of the public-private partnership in the IT field is to ensure an educational system which is both rigorous and focused on the needs of a market which is continuously evolvingâ€ said the State Secretary Balint Porcsalmi on this occasion.
Together with the Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mr. Zsolt Nagy, and the State Secretary Balint Porcsalmi, Mr. Costin Lianu, Director of the Export Promotion Department, as well as representatives of the industry associations were also present at the conference.
