Oracle Invests in the Creative Talent and Technical Excellence of the Romanian Specialists

Oracle Invests in the Romanian SpecialistsThe Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Zsolt Nagy, met the representatives of Oracle Corporation, one of the main foreign investors on the Romanian IT&C market.

During this meeting the positive results fo the Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2004 between the Romanian Government, represented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, and Oracle Corporation, were discussed.

Based on this Memorandum of Understanding the American corporation initiated in Romania an extensive program of investments whose result was the opening of more than 10 global services and Oracle technology centers that employ more than 1000 people. Moreover, Oracle Corporation launched a series of educational programmes that allowed the direct transfer of know-how and the consolidation of the human resource capable of supporting the knowledge based economy in Romania.

The representatives of Oracle Corporation expressed their intention of continuing to invest on the Romanian market, considering its development capacity, as well as the competitiveness of the human resource. They especially acknowledged the technical knowledge, the creativity and language skills of the Romanian specialists, aspects that contribute significantly to positioning Romania on the top preferences of the investors.

Moreover, the Oracle Corporation representatives showed their gratitude for the governmental support they received, acknowledging that the results they obtained would not have been possible without the active support of the Romanian authorities.

The presence of such an investor offers our specialists the possibility to take an extraordinary professional challenge, to prove thier talent and technical excellence, having access, at the same time, to an international business culture that can only help them get better. The Romanian Government, though MCIT, supports the initiatives of companies interested in investing in the Romanian IT”, said Minister Zsolt Nagy during the meeting.

The MCIT and Oracle Corporation specialists elaborated a new project for a Memorandum of Understanding between the two parties, due to ensure access to continuous professional training for civil servants, as well as development of relevant educational programmes withing the Knowledged Based Economy project implemented by MCIT.

Alongside Minister Zsolt Nagy, Mr. Juergen Rottler, Executive Vicepresident of Oracle Corporation was present, as well as other representatives of MCIT and Oracle Corporation
