CERF 2007 – the challenge of the Romanian IT&C

CERF 2007 the challenge of the Romanian IT&CThe Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Zsolt Nagy, inaugurated the XVIth Edition of the International Exhibition and Conference in Information Technology and Communications CERF, which took place between May 9 and 13, at the Exhibition Complex Romexpo, in Bucharest.

“CERF is an event about what is important, an event which shows the economic evolution of Romania, with a focus on the IT&C sector, the economic sector with the fastest growth pace. This edition brings the newest technologies in booths that look absolutely impressive.
I am glad to see that CERF is carrying on its tradition of the most important event of the IT&C Romanian sector, and the growing number of visitors every year is a proof of the increasing interest of the Romanians for the new technologies.”, said Minister Zsolt Nagy.

During the official tour of the exhibition Minister Zsolt Nagy visited a few booths of the present companies, he discussed with their representatives and he learned about the IT&C latest technologies they will show to the Romanian users. The Minister was also present at the press conference organized at the booth of Vodafone, for the presentation of the next 3G broadband technology performance level, which allows double data transfer speeds up to 2,8 Mbps.

Under the motto „CERF prepares you for the future”, this year’s CERF edition took place between May 9 and 13, reuniting over 150 exhibitors in five different sections: Communications, Digital Solutions and Systems, Imagining Expo (section dedicated to the digital photography and to the photographic art), IT Business Solutions and IT Distribution.

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology had its ows booth at this CERF edition where there were presented the projects developed by the Ministry to assure the access of a greater number of citizens to the services of the information society and also to build a more efficient relationship, based on transparency, between the public administration institutions and the citizens.

During the five days of the exhibition there were also the „CERF Business” conferences. Their program included thematic debates, business meetings, commercial presentations and product castings, events dedicated to the partners from the IT distribution chains and meetings with the reglementing institutions in the field.
